The following is a list of classes and competitions being held at the range.

Basic Pistol Instruction Class  A Basic Pistol Instruction Class will be held at the range on February 15, 2014.  This is a lecture class in the use and safe handling of semi-automatic pistols and revolvers as well as nomenclature of firearms. It is recommended for individuals who have little or no experience with firearms. Especially those who are interested in applying for a pistol license. This class is free of charge to members.

HR218 Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act (LEOSA) Training Class  The HR218 class will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2014 from 9:30am to 5pm.  The Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act (LEOSA) is a United States federal law, enacted in 2004, that allows two classes of persons-the "qualified law enforcement officer" and the "qualified retired law enforcement officer" -- to carry a concealed firearm in any jurisdiction in the United States, regardless of any state or local law to the contrary, with certain exceptions. Fee for this class is $50.00. There will be a $40.00 fee for each additional firearm you choose to qualify with.

Pistol Competition:  A 480 Combat Pistol Competition will be held at the range on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 2pm.  Fee for this shoot is $18.00.

8 Hour Annual Firearms Training Course for Armed Security Guards  An 8 Hour Firearms Class will be held on March 15, 2014 from 10am to 6pm. This  course is a review of the 47 Hour Firearms Training Course which includes complete familiarization on with and discussion of, Article 35 of the New York State Penal Law, the nomenclature for all service weapons which the security guard is authorized to carry in the performance of his/her duties. Use of firearms and standard safety precautions will be emphasized. Loading and Unloading, sighting, proper grip, trigger control and effective range of the respective weapons will be covered. All authorized weapons will be fired for familiarization. All service handguns which the security guard is authorized to carry in the performance of his/her duties will be fired for qualification. The course includes ammunition and targets. Fee for this class is $125.00.

Pistol Competition Results: The winners of the 480 Combat Pistol Competition held on November 23, 2013 are Giovanni Malinconico took the Master Trophy with a score of 477 x 480, Jose Pagan with a score of 445 x 480 won the Expert Trophy, Stefano Bonadonna, in his first competition, took the Sharpshooter Trophy scoring 422 x 480 and winning the Marksman Trophy, Ioannis Douvelis with a score of 389 x 480.  We'd like to congratulate the winners and thank all who participated in making this a great competition.
