The following is a list of classes and competitions being held at the range.

Basic Pistol Instruction Class  A Basic Pistol Instruction Class will be held at the range on Saturday, July 19, 2014, from 11am to 2pm.  This is a lecture class in the use and safe handling of semi-automatic pistols and revolvers as well as nomenclature of firearms. It is recommended for individuals who have little or no experience with firearms. Especially those who are interested in applying for a pistol license. This class is free of charge to members.

HR218 Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act (LEOSA) Training Class  The HR218 class will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2014 from 9:30am to 5pm.  The Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act (LEOSA) is a United States federal law, enacted in 2004, that allows two classes of persons-the "qualified law enforcement officer" and the "qualified retired law enforcement officer" -- to carry a concealed firearm in any jurisdiction in the United States, regardless of any state or local law to the contrary, with certain exceptions. Fee for this class is $50.00. There will be a $40.00 fee for each additional firearm you choose to qualify with.

8 Hour Annual Firearms Training Course for Armed Security Guards  An 8 Hour Firearms Class will be held on Saturday, August 2,  2014 from 10am to 6pm and another on Saturday, August 9, 2014 from 10am to 6pm.  This  course is a review of the 47 Hour Firearms Training Course which includes complete familiarization on with and discussion of, Article 35 of the New York State Penal Law, the nomenclature for all service weapons which the security guard is authorized to carry in the performance of his/her duties. Use of firearms and standard safety precautions will be emphasized. Loading and Unloading, sighting, proper grip, trigger control and effective range of the respective weapons will be covered. All authorized weapons will be fired for familiarization. All service handguns which the security guard is authorized to carry in the performance of his/her duties will be fired for qualification. The course includes ammunition and targets. Fee for this class is $125.00.

Hunter Safety Class: A Hunter Safety Class will be held at the range on 2 consecutive Saturday's, August 16 and August 23, 2014 from 11am to 4pm (you MUST attend BOTH class dates).  This class is free and open to anyone 12 years of age and older. Registration will begin at the range on Saturday August 9, 2014 at 10am.  This class is first come first serve and seating is limited.  

Pistol Competition Results: The winners of the 480 Combat Pistol Competition held on March 1, 2014 are Charlton Nieves winning the Master Trophy scoring a 480 x 480, Jesus Rabelo with a score of 444 x 480 took the Expert Trophy, and winning the Marksman Trophy, Keyron Gorden with a score of 307 x 480.  We'd like to congratulate the winners and thank all who participated in making this a great competition.
