NY HR218 (LEOSA) Training Course:
We will be
holding an HR218 LEOSA Training class on Saturday, July 29, 2017 beginning at 10am. The Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act (LEOSA) is a United States federal law, enacted in 2004, that allows two classes of persons—the "qualified law enforcement officer" and the "qualified retired law enforcement officer" -- to carry a concealed firearm in any jurisdiction in the United States, regardless of any state or local law to the contrary, with certain exceptions. Fee for this class
is $50.00. There will be a $40.00 fee for each additional firearm you choose to qualify with.
8 Hour Annual Firearms Training Course for Armed Security Guards:
We
will be holding this class at the range on Saturday, August 12, 2017 and another class on Saturday, August 19, 2017. This class is a review of the 47 Hour Firearms Training Course which includes complete familiarization with and discussion of, Article 35 of the New York State Penal Law, the nomenclature for all service weapons which the security guard is authorized to carry in the performance of his/her duties. Use of firearms and standard safety precautions will be emphasized. Loading and
Unloading, sighting, proper grip, trigger control and effective range of the respective weapons will be covered. All authorized weapons will be fired for familiarization. All service handguns which the security guard is authorized to carry in the performance of his/her duties will be fired for qualification. The course includes ammunition and targets. Fee for this class is $125.00.
Basic Pistol Instruction Class Basic Pistol Instruction Class will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2017 from 11am to 3pm. This is a lecture class in the use and safe handling of semi-automatic pistols and revolvers as well as nomenclature of firearms. It is recommended for individuals who have little or no experience with
firearms. Especially for those who are interested in applying for a pistol license. This class is free of charge to members.
